One Day in Doha

Doha, Qatar

“Call it serendipity”

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones unplanned. Call it serendipity!!

It wasn’t on my itinerary, but an impromptu layover in Doha was simply awesome! My hotel was just steps from the “old market” Souq Waqif, Museum of Islamic Art, Spiral Mosque, and across the bay from the most spectacular and modern Doha skyline.

It just so happened that I arrived midday on a Friday. My day started with the enchanting sounds of Jummah filling the streets, followed by a beautiful afternoon, a breathtaking sunset, and then capped by an unforgettable evening of eating and dancing in Doha’s Old Market.

I’m no longer surprised by the warm welcome and kindness I receive when I find myself immersed in another culture. I find it everywhere in the world. People are so willing and proud to share a piece of themselves and I feel so much joy in just being present in those moments.

Thank you Doha!! You’re beautiful!! Next time I’ll plan to stay for a while.
