Are we there yet?

“We’re close, but…”

Would you like to know what happens when a pent-up demand runs into an inadequate supply? Or, when FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out, for my boomer friends) triggers impulsive buying?

It can look a little something like this…

People run to the store and buy all the toilet paper they can find, or they’re lured into booking a dream vacation to a destination that’s not actually open for business.

Listen, I am in the luxury travel business. I have friends all over the world in the hospitality industry. Our livelihoods depend on travel and tourism. Nobody wants travel to rebound any more or sooner than me. But…

Folks, let’s be smart about this. For starters, please understand the travel guidance offered by the CDC and the US State Department. Next, check-in with a trusted travel professional (Of course, I suggest me. But seriously… find someone you can trust). Unfortunately, the pent-up demand for travel also meant a pent-up demand for travel sales. Sadly, that results in “luring you into a dream vacation” to a destination or supplier ill prepared to deliver a quality experience.

Don’t get me wrong. Right now, I am quite optimistic about traveling. In fact, I have many suggestions for you to satisfy the “travel bug” burning inside you right now. Especially, if you want to visit any one of the thousands of AMAZING domestic travel sites – beaches, spas, golf/tennis resorts, national parks, etc. How many times have you said, “I’d love to see more of the U.S.A.?”  Well, now’s the time. I’m also aware of a few spots internationally where I have excellent resources, partners, and tremendous confidence in their ability to deliver a quality luxury travel experience.

In other words, here’s my advice: Don’t buy all the TP in the store; overpay for a roll; or settle for an inferior product.

And, of course, call me when you’re ready to plan your next vacation.

Nobody wants travel to rebound any more or sooner than me.
